New Media & Digital Imaging – 8207410 (Weighted Course)
This course provides an introduction to graphic design software and presentation guidelines. Explore digital photography, print production, composition design, typography, and advertising techniques. This course uses Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat software. Students will create brochures, photo collages, logos, magazine covers, movie posters, CD covers, and other print projects as well as prepare for Adobe national certification in the software. This course is an introduction to graphic design and photo editing. The students will use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create print media. Students create basic design projects; explore the elements of art and principles of design, color theory, and advertising techniques. Students will be prepared for Adobe Photoshop certification.
Digital Cinema (Video and Sound Fundamentals) – 8207420
This course provides an introduction to digital video and sound editing. Students use pre-planning, storyboarding, production, and final DVD products. Delve into digital video shooting, multimedia presentations, and animation. Students will certify in Apple’s Final Cut Studio to create short stories, music videos, commercials, and motion menu DVD’s to prepare for Apple national certification.
INTRODUCTORY TECHNOLOGY
Intro to IT (8207310): 1 year
Improve keyboarding skills as well as earning four industry certifications while mastering the basic life skills for success in IT. The curriculum covers the 3 modules of Computer Fundamentals (Software, Hardware, and Operating Systems), Key Applications (Word Processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software), and Living OnLine (skills for working in an Internet or networked environment) for IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification) certification.
In addition, the student will have the opportunity to be a Microsoft Office Specialist in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and earn the industry certification for each program. This one-year course is the entry-level course to many of the Bright Future’s Gold Seal Scholarships.

Networking 1: 8207020, (IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software (Weighted Course)
The IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software curriculum provides an introduction to the computer hardware and software skills needed to help meet the growing demand for entry-level information and communication technology (ICT) professionals. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of PC technology, networking, and security, and also provides an introduction to advanced concepts.
Students who complete this course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot using system tools and diagnostic software. Hands-on labs and Virtual Laptop and Virtual Desktop learning tools help students develop critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills. Cisco Packet Tracer simulation-based learning activities promote the exploration of network and networking security concepts and allow students to experiment with network behavior.
The curriculum helps students prepare for entry-level ICT career opportunities and the CompTIA A+ certification, which helps students differentiate themselves in the marketplace to advance their careers.
Networking 2: 8207030 (Weighted Course)
The second year of networking will complete the curriculum for the CompTIA A+. The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for computer support technicians. The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ is part of the certification track for corporations such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and Novell.
Networking 3: 8207010 (Weighted Course)
The curriculum prepares the student for the skills and knowledge necessary to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small branch office Enterprise network, including configuring a switch, a router, and connecting to a WAN and implementing network security. This content covers Part 1 of the CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) by completing the objectives for the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1)
The CCENT certification validates the skills required for entry-level network support positions, the starting point for many successful careers in networking. CCENT certified professionals have the knowledge and skill to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. CCENT certification is the first step toward achieving CCNA, which covers medium size enterprise branch networks with more complex connections.
Networking 4: 8207050 (Weighted Course)
This course focuses on providing the skills and knowledge necessary to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium-size branch office Enterprise network, including configuring several switches and routers, connecting to a WAN and implementing network security. Completion of this content prepares the student for the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 (ICND2) exam which then entitles them to the CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate)
Networking 5 – 8207060 (Weighted Course)
This course enables the student to gain expertise of their specific area of study in networking. A suggested path of completion would be the CompTIA Network+ certification. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that proves a technician’s competency in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing and configuring basic network infrastructure.

This course is designed to develop entry-level skills for PC support services. Emphasis is placed on developing an understanding of various computer software applications and computer hardware. The curriculum prepares students for the IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software certification. (IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software is a hands-on, career-oriented solution with an emphasis on practical experience to help students develop fundamental computer skills, along with essential career skills. The curriculum also helps students begin preparation for the CompTIA A+ certification, which helps students differentiate themselves in the marketplace to advance their careers.
PC Support 2: (820722)
This course continues the development of basic entry-level skills for PC support services. The content includes software applications and operating systems, electronic communication via the Internet, and an introduction to computer networking. The curriculum covers the practical application part for the completion of the CompTIA A+ certification.
PC Support 3: (8207230)
This course continues the study of PC support services and is designed to develop advanced skills for employment. The content includes advanced software applications, the interrelationships among major components, hardware installation, and selection of electronic communications software and hardware. This curriculum prepares you for certification with Microsoft as a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification.
PC Support 4: (8207240)
This course continues the development of advanced skills for entry-level employment in PC support services positions. The content includes utilization of advanced software/system features and programs, integration techniques to enhance projects, network administration, components of Web pages, and preventative hardware maintenance. This curriculum prepares the student for the industry certifications of “Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server Environment” and “Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server Network Infrastructure”. Completion of the four exams in PC Support 3 and 4 earns the title of Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA).

Computer Programming 1 – 8206010 (Weighted Credit)
This course Introduces students to computer programming. Using robotics, the course will reinforce problem solving skills using logic flow, iteration, and algorithm development and testing. Students will transition to using Visual Basic programming language to develop Windows applications and learn Microsoft’s .NET development environment.
Computer Programming 2 – 8206020 (Weighted Credit)
The second year of programming has continued use of robotics to reinforce programming techniques. Transition to C# (C sharp) language and greater in-depth study of .NET design structures for developing Windows applications. Students will develop, implement, and test a Windows based game of their own design. Students will also prepare for Microsoft Certified Professional exam, “Developing Windows-Based Applications”, the first step in becoming a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
Computer Programming 3 – 8206030 (Weighted Credit)
This course continues the student’s study of C# and .NET. Specifically focus on developing Web-based applications and building datasets from database management systems. Students will be introduced to Project Management. Students will also prepare for second exam for MCTS certification, “Developing Web-Based Applications”.
Computer Programming 4 – 8206040 (Weighted Credit)
The final year will focus on project management: Students will be assigned to a team tasked with developing a Web-based application within given time and manpower constraints. The team will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing and documenting project solution. Students will use all skills learned from prior programming courses to ensure team’s success. Students will also prepare for another MCTS exam.

TV Production 1: (8772110)
This course is designed to teach the basic knowledge of television production systems, safety, and terminology. Students will learn to prepare a set for production as well as perform lighting activities and learn the basic knowledge of studio equipment used in television production. The curriculum will include required objectives for earning the Final Cut Studio Level One Certification.
TV Production 2: (8772120)
This course is designed to prepare a script starting with a basic storyboard. The student will gain knowledge of the process of all job functions of a television production team and the processes required to meet a deadline. With the understanding of job functions they will gain knowledge of career opportunities in the television industry. Curriculum will include objectives for earning the Apple Motion certification.
TV Production 3: (8772130)
This course continues the understanding of television production to be able to develop the communication skills required to produce a show. Employability skills and business skills to operate a small business in TV production will be addressed. Members of this class will prepare projects that may be aired on the school TV show.
TV Production 4: (8772140)
This course covers the mastery of production equipment from audio mixing to generating special effects. The students will learn to select production topics and appropriate equipment to meet deadlines. Members of this class will be responsible for the school TV program as well as special assignments that will come from our ITV Director or local business opportunities. Class will be project driven for students to gain experience in team work, communication, collaboration, and meeting deadlines for production.

Web Design 1: (8207110)
This course is the beginning course that teaches how to plan, organize, and create a Web site from start to finish while having fun doing it. Students will also update pages created during previous weeks to conform to the current lesson, resulting in a polished Web site. Some of the things discussed in this course are: planning (what to do before you even start designing the page), site structure, page layout, the home page, presentation, printing, images, content, fonts, and much more. The combination of the hands-on learning and teacher instruction gives the student a well-rounded background in Web design.
Web Design 2: (8207120)
This Web design course is a comprehensive, detailed course that teaches how to plan, organize, and create a Web site from start to finish. The course places a heavy emphasis on individual page design and layout. By the end of this design course, students will have created a well-designed Web site while having fun along the way. In this highly interactive, hands-on course, students will have the opportunity to pass the industry-standard certification exams (Site Development Foundations and Site Designer) and become a CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) Associate Design Specialist. This certification covers the content area of site development, XHTML, Hyperlinks, web forms, tables and frames, and editors as well as elements and layouts, usability testing, navigation concepts, graphics, cascading style sheets while using the latest version of Adobe Dreamweaver.
Web Design 3: (8207130)
This course is designed to build on already existing advanced web skills. Curriculum focuses on standards, technologies and practices for e-commerce models. The web designer facilitates relationships among marketing, promotion, customer service, user interaction, purchasing methods, and secures transactions by using SSL and SET, payment gateways, inventory control, shipping and order information and site performance testing and evaluation.
The concept of security while having an online e-commerce store will be covered as well as effective strategies for managing customer relationships. The content will prepare the student for the CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) E-Commerce Designer which qualifies the student as a Master CIW Designer. Students will gain knowledge on SEO certification (Search Engine Optimization) http://www.seocertification.org.
Web Design 4: (8207140)
This course focuses on developing and maintaining Web sites using authoring and scripting languages. Students will create content and digital media, and employ standards and technologies for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce Web sites. Master CIW Designer certification can lead to a successful career as a Web designer, creative director, Web marketing/ business specialist or art director. Candidates must pass three required CIW exams to become a Master CIW Designer.
Web Design 5: (8207150)
This course focuses on capstone projects that draws on skills previously acquired with at least one of those projects being a design or redesign as community service for their community. These skills represent the most demanded in the web design industry. Students will have the opportunity to focus on their area of expertise and while practicing teaming skills with Google tools for collaboration and gadgets in order to complete their capstone project.
