CHOICE Aviation Institute Director, Choctawhatchee and Crestview
Before joining Embry-Riddle as CHOICE Aviation Institute Director, Murphy completed a 30-year career in the US Navy. His final assignment was Director of the Aviation Training School at Naval Aviation Station, Pensacola, where he directed the initial flight training of all US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard and selected US Air Force and international aviators.
A native of Massachussetts, he is a graduate of Holy Cross College, the Naval Postgraduate School -- where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he received a Master of Aeronautical Science Degree.
Murphy teaches Flight Physiology, Management Science and Information Systems for Embry-Riddle at the Choctawhatchee and Crestview High School campuses.
Amanda Hansen graduated from Eckerd College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Chemistry. She later earned her Master's degree and is currently working on her doctorate at Florida State University. Hansen teaches Meteorology for Embry-Riddle at the CHOICE Institutes.
John Jannazo graduated from Notre Dame University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He received his Master's degree in Modern US and European History from Wright State University. He graduated from the US Air Force War College ad the Air Command Staff & Squadron Officer's School, as well as the Defense Management College.
Jannazo flew the F-15 Eagle, the F-106 Delta Dart and the T-33 Lockheed Racer for the Air Force, where he was also a squadron commander. Jannazo developed the first course in Uninhabited Aerial Vehicles for high school students as part of the CHOICE program last year.
Jannazo is also an Okaloosa County Commissioner.
